Carpati Md 1974 is the Romanian semi-automatic pistol similar to the [[Walther PPK]], but not a copy. Like the PPK , the Md 1974 is DA/SA, utilizes straight blowback, and is chambered in both .32 ACP (Md 1974)and .380 ACP (Md 1995). One major difference, however, is the use of a heel-mounted magazine catch and a chrome plated frame(Only seen at MD 1974,the MD 1995 was black). It entered in production at the beginning of the 1970's, replacing the old [[Tokarev TT-33]].
