Bionic Woman (2007)

Bionic Woman was a short lived television series that ran an abbreviated season just before the Motion Pictures and Television Writers strike of Winter 2007-2008. (The striking union was the WGA - Writer's Guild of America) The series was the brainchild of David Eick, co-producer of the successful re-imagined Battlestar Galactica television series, but it was handled poorly. Dark, depressing, and without a soul, the Bionic Woman tried to capture the feel of BSG (even as far as having tons of BSG actors do cameo appearances on the show) but it was a misguided effort. The ratings plummeted after the first episode, being that this was a dark and ultimately unsatisfying show about a super-heroine who could never use her powers in public. The writer's strike put the nail in the show's coffin and it was not renewed for more episodes after the strike ended in the early Spring of 2008. Typical of Hollywood, all of the blame for the expensive show's failure was hurled at the show's star, Michelle Ryan, which was exceptionally unfair, since the show's weaknesses lay squarely on the shoulders of the producer, director(s) and script writers.

The following guns were used on the show Bionic Woman:

Heckler & Koch MP5A4

  • Episode 1 (Pilot): the Heckler & Koch MP5A4 is extensively used by the security forces of the Berkut Group. While analyzing the sequence, these MP5s have the four position trigger group, making them the A4 variant.
Jae Kim (Will Yun Lee) leads a security group in the first shot of the Pilot Episode, the soldiers all carry MP5A4s with Tactical lights and lasers mounted - 9mm. In a particularly chilling sequence, Kim and his tactical group walk past the bodies of fourteen massacred scientists in the tunnel. Will Yun Lee is best known for his portrayal of Colonel Moon in Die Another Day
A BG security tactical team member aims his MP5A4 - 9mm. A clear view of the laser mounted to the base of the front sight and the tactical flashlight.

Heckler & Koch MP5A3 with Navy Trigger Group

  • Episode 2 (Paradise Lost): used by mercenaries disguised as U.S. Marines and also by the Berkut Group's Tactical teams.
Fake "Marine" enters an abandoned building with an MP5A3 with a 3 position Navy trigger group - 9mm
Antonio Pope (Isaiah Washington) leads the BG Tactical team in a night raid, holding an MP5A3 with a 3 position Navy trigger group - 9mm
More BG Tactical team members ready to storm the building with an MP5A3 with a 3 position Navy trigger group - 9mm
In a continuity break, Ruth Treadwell (Molly Price) picks up an M4 Flat top carbine from an abandoned pawnshop and runs out the back, but the weapon changes to an MP5 - 9mm

Heckler & Koch SL8

  • Episode 1 (Pilot): The Heckler & Koch SL8 rifle is used by the homicidal "first Bionic Woman" Sarah Corvus (Katee Sackhoff) to snipe at Doctor Will Anthros, Jaime Sommer's fiancé. The actual rifle is a 5.56x45mm NATO weapon, not the best caliber to choose for a super long distance sniper shot through a building's safety glass window. The round is too small and light.
Can't forget during a heavy down pour. It would throw the shoot way off. The Winchester

Corvus holds her SL8 rifle. Based on the configuration, this is the same SL8 rifle used in the second episode of the show Painkiller Jane. Both shows were filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia and had the same Canadian Armorers.

Heckler & Koch UMP-45

  • Episode 1 (Pilot): The Heckler & Koch UMP-45 is used by 'the man' (Thomas Kretschmann), a mysterious shadow world figure who was never explained due to the show's sudden cancellation.
Fugitive Anthony Andros (Mark Sheppard) and the man (Thomas Kretschmann) escape into the Canadian wilderness from a maximum security prison, "the Man" holds a UMP-45 submachine gun.

Heckler & Koch MP7A1

  • Episode 2 (Paradise Lost) - Berkut Group Tactical team members carry MP7A1s during a night time raid.
In Episode 2 (Paradise Lost), BG Tactical team member stands in the smoky aftermath of a flash bang grenade, holding a H&K MP7A1 - 4.6x30mm.

M249 Paratrooper

  • Episode 1 (Pilot): the M249 Paratrooper Squad Automatic Weapon is extensively used by the security forces of the Berkut Group.
BG Security on the far left holds an M249 Para - 5.56mm

M4/M4A1

  • Episode 2 (Paradise Lost): the M4/M4A1 carbine is used by mercenaries posing as Marines. Berkut Group analyst Ruth Treadwell (Molly Price) also picks up a flat top M4 from the gun rack ... of a pawn shop (?!) to fight off the phoney Marines.
In Episode 2 (Paradise Lost), "U.S. Marines" order Jaime Sommers and a young girl, Vivian (Carly McKillip), to stop where they are, carrying M4 Carbines - 5.56mm. Too bad they are not real Marines ...
In Episode 2 (Paradise Lost), the "Marines" open fire on Jaime Sommers and Vivian (Carly McKillip) with their M4s - 5.56mm
In Episode 2 (Paradise Lost), Ruth Treadwell (Molly Price) pulls a flat top M4 with RIS rails and an M68 Red Dot sight from the gun rack of a pawn shop - 5.56mm. One doesn't expect that sort of high end weapon to be sitting on a gun rack, unlocked in the back office of a pawnshop.
In Episode 2 (Paradise Lost), Ruth Treadwell (Molly Price) holds the Flat top M4 but orders Vivian (Carly McKillip) to escape out the back.

M1911A1

  • Episode 1 (Pilot): Jae Kim (Will Yun Lee) carries a nickel plated M1911-A1 when he searches for Sarah Corvus in a darkened building. He later switches to the Beretta 92FS almost exclusively for the rest of the show.
In Episode 1 (Pilot), Jae Kim (Will Yun Lee) searches a dark building with his Nickel Plated M1911A1 - .45 acp

Beretta 92FS

  • Episode 2 (Paradise Lost) - used by Jae Kim (Will Yun Lee) when he is hunting for Sarah Corvus, the Beretta 92FS is almost exclusively carried for the rest of the season. Also carried by Antonio Pope (Isaiah Washington) when he leads the BG tactical team.
In Episode 2 (Paradise Lost), Jae Kim (Will Yun Lee) hunts for Sarah Corvus with a Beretta 92FS - 9mm
In Episode 2 (Paradise Lost), Jae Kim (Will Yun Lee) hunts for Sarah Corvus with a Beretta 92FS - 9mm
In Episode 2 (Paradise Lost), Antonio Pope (Isaiah Washington) leads the charge, in full tactical gear with a Beretta 92FS - 9mm

Franchi SPAS-12

  • Episode 1 (Pilot): The Franchi SPAS-12 shotgun is seen only once, wielded by security forces of the Berkut Group.
BG Security on the far right aims a Franchi SPAS-12 shotgun - 12 gauge

MK II Hand Grenade

  • Episode 2 (Paradise Lost): rather anachronistically attached to a U.S. Marine's web gear. There is a continuity break moments later when a booby trap is made with the grenade and it changes into an M67 Grenade.

M67 Hand Grenade

  • Episode 2 (Paradise Lost): An M67 is used in a booby trap. Previously it was a MK II Grenade when it was attached to an unconscious Marine's web gear.
