Basil Rathbone (1892–1967) as Sherlock Holmes

Philip St. John Basil Rathbone (June 13, 1892 – July 21, 1967) was an English screen and stage actor best known for the role of Sherlock Holmes in fourteen Hollywood films, filmed in 1939-1946. He received a Tony Award in 1948 as Best Actor in a Play, and was nominated for two Academy Awards and got three stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
