A Soldier's Story (1984)

A Soldier's Story is a 1984 feature film adaptation of the Pulitzer-prize winning play of the same name. Directed by Norman Jewison and set during World War II, the film follows an African-American military investigator who is assigned the case of an African-American drill sergeant who may have been murdered by one of his recruits. The film's cast included Howard E. Rollins Jr., Adolph Caesar, and Denzel Washington.
