Heya

You want me to archive your talk page? Also, what do you think of the work I've been doing on that other Goldeneye? It's amazing how much of the stuff on the page before was either totally wrong or only true of one version or the other. Evil Tim 09:56, 14 August 2012 (CDT)

Eh, 90 subsections is a pretty big page. I think most of the grief was because people claimed the original was next-gen graphics when actually it looks a lot like Black running on PS2. My current device is a Hauppage! (yes, with the exclaimation) HD-PVR, using component leads for input; it's completely useless for composite, mind, so I've still got my Pinnacle Dazzle if I need to record anything PS2 or earlier. It can theoretically record 1080p but it looks like ass in motion to stop you using it to copy blu-ray discs, so it's best to leave it on 720. The Hauppage one also has the advantage that it's actually designed for recording games and so has component video pass-through, so you don't have to build a snake's nest of wires and splitters to play without recording lag. Actually I just realised the most ridiculous thing about that game: they forgot to make Dam a flashback and just have the story carry straight on after it. So Alec manages to set up the entire Janus organisation and builds a massive power station in roughly one day.Evil Tim 01:06, 15 August 2012 (CDT)
Well, it's not like EA didn't try that too (and unlike GoldenEye: Rogue Agent Activision's game actually has something to do with the original movie), it's just they tried to bring it up to date in a way that makes no actual sense. I guess it's because it was written by a Hollywood screenwriter who wasn't used to the games industry's alarming tendency to accept first script drafts (the co-writer of the original movie script, apparently) because it has all the signs of a script which hasn't had enough editorial work done on it; from the aformentioned turbo-terrorism to forgetting to give Alec the scar the entire Janus group is named after to Ourumov stealing an EMP-hardened helicopter when he already has one. KillerUzi

Eh, he's not going to magically become a decent human being in six months, I've made it infinite. Evil Tim 20:23, 16 August 2012 (CDT)

And it turns out all of the were Liam. Fancy that. Evil Tim 08:23, 17 August 2012 (CDT)
Yeah, but he remembers that whole "Jamal pick my cotton" thing from back when Liam went nuts and started e-stalking Excalibur after the Killzone page was deleted. He's insulting Zackmann for giving him a new account after we banned the other two last night and that one he used earlier. Evil Tim 08:42, 17 August 2012 (CDT)
Naw, I think it's just the same guy it always was. Liam always made useless pages, that's why he was banned originally. So he loses two accounts he's "contributing" with, digs out an old one he remembered the password for, then has to register a new one. Insulting Zachmann is because he totally beat us by being mildly inconveniant for a few minutes.
I've modded a site with about ten thousand active members (not saying which :D), and I can tell you for free: people do get this weird and obsessive about having a right to be there even though all they do is make a mess when they actually have that "right." We had one guy posting spam dozens of accounts a day for hours at a time, for most of a year. Evil Tim 08:59, 17 August 2012 (CDT)
Anyway, I have to go to sleep now, so keep an eye out. Evil Tim 09:09, 17 August 2012 (CDT)
I think the most likely answer is that Gunner95 isn't the same guy, and is just a completely different idiot (it's not like the world is experiencing a shortage) with the similarities being coincidental. Or it's just one of his many personalities. Either way, I wouldn't bother unbanning Gunner95 to find out. In other news, playing GoldenEye I've realised the most ridiculous firearm-related thing is that Bond has to draw his weapon when breaching doors. So, um, he holsters his weapon, kicks open a door to a room full of armed men, and then tries to pull it back out. And with anything but a pistol does it so slowly that the bad guys are already shooting at him by the time he can fire.
I just get the image of the guards standing there looking embarassed for him as Daniel Craig bursts in dramatically and starts struggling with a carry strap tangled around his arm or something. Anyway, off to bed. Evil Tim 09:25, 17 August 2012 (CDT)
