I'm a USAF Veteran and have been shooting for over fifty years. I bought my first firearm when I was 10 years old, a .22 caliber, bolt action, single shot, U.S. Army training rifle that had been used prior to the United States declaring war with Japan after 7 December 1941. I have a fairly extensive firearms collection that includes everything from old single shot H&R shotguns to Rock River Arms LAR-15s. I have a concealed carry permit and utilize that permit daily. I consider myself to be very fortunate because my wife and I have a farm and that allows me to have my own shooting range at my home, just 50 meters from my back deck. My wife and I regularly shoot trap and skeet in one of our pastures too. My personal passion in the shooting arts is long distance precision shooting and with my own range I am able to shoot from a little over 800 meters to the target area. My wife is an excellent skeet and trap shooter and landed a spot on her collegiate skeet team by beating a number of men. In the USAF I earned the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, with a bronze star for qualifying as an expert with both the service rifle and pistol. Despite those qualifications, my wife beats me with a shotgun every time. I do beat her with both rifle and pistol though and it's a good thing or I would never live it down.
