Single Action Army

The Single Action Army revolver is carried by both Frank Hamer (Kevin Costner) and Maney Gault (Woody Harrelson) as their sidearms.

Smith & Wesson M1917 Revolver

Frank Hamer (Kevin Costner) examines a nickel Smith & Wesson M1917 revolver while at the gun store. He then asks for a black model, since the nickel is too shiny.

Smith & Wesson M1917 Revolver (Military issue with lanyard ring) - .45 ACP. Note the ejector-rod socket, common of a Smith revolver. Also note the S&W style cylinder release latch and half-moon front sight. These are the only easily distinguishable external differences between the Colt and S&W versions.

Colt Monitor

Frank Hamer (Kevin Costner) is seen using the Colt R80 Monitor, a Colt-manufactured variant of the BAR with a Cutts compensator. This weapon is also used by Maney Gault.
