Additional Images
- Early infantry version. No flash suppressor. Mounted bipod mounted in place of the ball harness. It has a metal stock. Early models used an anti-aircraft sight.
- Early infantry version. No flash suppressor. It has a front grip and a bipod mounted closer to the barrel muzzle. It has a metal stock.
- Later infantry version. It has a flash hider. Mounted bipod mounted in place of the ball harness. It has a metal stock. No mechanical sight.
- Later infantry version. It has a flash hider. Mounted bipod mounted in place of the ball harness. It has a wooden stock. It has a mechanical sight.
- Early version sketch. Without flash hider.
- Sketch of a later version. With flash hider.
- Sketch of a later version. With flash hider.
- Are we sure these variants are all legit? The second and forth variants look like Small Arms Illustrated-style photoshop jobs, and as comically desperate as the Germans were during the later days of WWII, I seriously doubt that they made an official infantry conversion of the MG 81 with no sights - the gun in the image is probably just missing them.
