The Loner (Le Solitaire) is a 1987 French crime movie directed by Jacques Deray and starring Jean-Paul Belmondo as police commissioner Stan Jalard. Stan's close friend Simon Lecache is killed by criminal Schneider, and now Stan's goal is finding Schneider and bringing him to justice.

Commissioner Stan Jalard's (Jean-Paul Belmondo) personal weapon is a Manurhin MR-73 Police with 4" barrel. Many other police detectives, officers and security guards carry MR-73 Police (with duty sights) revolvers with 4", 4" and 2.5" barrels.

Schneider's henchman Rocky (Laurent Gendron) takes a revolver from another guard in the same scene.

Stan arrests a group of criminals.

A police inspector fires an MR-73 during the shootout on freight station.

Stan holds his revolver during the scene in casino.

He holds casino manager at gunpoint.

Stan threatens a petty criminal Aldo Benani (Éric Denize).

Colt Python

In the final scenes Stan's revolver switches from a Manurhin MR-73 to another one that is seen only in holster. The grip of the revolver matches Colt Python.

Snub Nose Revolvers

In several scenes police inspectors are seen with snub nose revolvers of unidentified model. In final scene Schneider's girlfriend Sandra (Yolande Gilot) also uses a snub nose revolver.

Sandra aims her revolver at Stan. It is a 6-shot revolver but not a snub nose MR-73 as it has unshrouded ejector rod.
