Exception to the Rule is a 1997 Canadian crime thriller directed by David Winning. Diamond trader Tim Bayer (Eric McCormack), whose wife Angela (Sean Young) is pregnant, will build a love affair with attractive Carla Rainer (Kim Cattrall). She him but then starts to blackmail.
