Bye Bye Germany
|
Bye Bye Germany is a 2017 German drama film directed by Sam Garbarski and based on the novels Die Teilacher and Machloikes by Michel Bergmann, who co-wrote the screenplay. Shortly after the end of the Second World War, the Germans need one thing above all: laundry. At least that's what Jewish merchant and Holocaust survivor David Bermann thinks. Without further ado, he rebuilds the family laundry business in Frankfurt am Main and gathers a troupe of shrewd sales talents around him. The laundry salesmen use ludicrous stories and little tricks to gain entry. Business is booming until US officer Sara Simon turns up and asks uncomfortable questions about Bermann's past.
