Favourite Western Films

Name: Year: Director: Personal rating: Image
A Fistful of Dollars 1964 Sergio Leone 7.5/10
Very good film that started this great genre of movies.

For a Few Dollars More 1965 Sergio Leone 8.5/10
It is always a pleasure to see this wonderful film.
FFDMDVDcover.jpg
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly 1966 Sergio Leone 10/10
My favorite movie, in general.
GBUDVDCover.jpg
Once Upon a Time in the West 1968 Sergio Leone 10/10
If we speak objectively, it is the best Western ever made
Once upon a time in the west.jpg
Duck, You Sucker!
Once Upon a Time... The Revolution
Duck You Head, Asshole
A Fistful of Dynamite
The Heroes of Mesa Verde
1971 Sergio Leone 9/10
The most underrated Spaghetti Western and Western (in general) ever made
Duck You Sucker.jpg
My Name is Nobody 1973 Tonino Valerii
Sergio Leone
9/10
A wonderful movie that I can watch over and over again without getting tired, as well as being far superior to the mediocre comedies that killed off the Spaghetti Western.
MynobodyPoster.jpg
A Genius, Two Partners and a Dupe 1975 Damiano Damiani
Sergio Leone
6.5/10
a harmless Spaghetti Western, with an excellent introduction and a acceptable but questionable development.
A Genius, Two Partners and a Dupe.jpg
Minnesota Clay 1965 Sergio Corbucci 7.5/10
Although it is not the director's first western, it is the one that really gave him his characteristic style.
Minnesota Clay.jpg
Django 1966 Sergio Corbucci 10/10
A legendary Spaghetti Western with an incalculable legacy and with the most important character of the genre.
Django-poster.jpg
Navajo Joe 1966 Sergio Corbucci .../10
I haven't seen this movie yet
Navajo Joe Poster.jpg
The Mercenary 1968 Sergio Corbucci .../10
I haven't finished watching it, I'll update this later.
The Mercenary-poster.jpg
The Great Silence 1968 Sergio Corbucci .../10
I haven't seen this movie yet
Silence-poster.jpg
Compañeros 1970 Sergio Corbucci 8/10
Great Spaghetti Western with a fun duo and a correct plot development, in addition to having one of the best antagonists of the genre.
Companeros-Poster.jpg
The Big Gundown 1966 (or 1967...) Sergio Sollima 10/10
Magnificent Spaghetti Western, one of the best films of the genre in fact. In my opinion, the best movie where Lee Van Cleef acted.
The Big Gundown.jpg
Face to Face 1967 Sergio Sollima .../10
I haven't seen this movie, but it's a shame it was a box office failure.
Faccia a faccia poster.jpg
Run, Man, Run 1968 Sergio Sollima 7.5/10
Quite entertaining movie, as a continuation it is very good, but compared to The Big Gundown, it falls short.
Run, Man, Run.jpg
A Pistol for Ringo 1965 Duccio Tessari 8/10
An important Spaghetti Western considering that it gave rise to one of the most iconic characters of the genre. Over time I have grown fond of him.
A Pistol for Ringo.jpg
The Return of Ringo 1965 Duccio Tessari 8.5/10
Slightly better than its predecessor, it is great and entertaining, its strength is the narration and the development of the plot, far superior to previous and subsequent Spaghetti Westerns.
The Return of Ringo.jpg
Long Live Your Death 1971 Duccio Tessari 9/10
In the line of Tepepa and Duck, You Sucker!, one of best and most notable Zapata Westerns.
Viva la Muerte... Tua!.jpg
Day of Anger 1967 Tonino Valerii 8.5/10
A very well-made Spaghetti Western that undoubtedly ranks as one of the most brilliant of the genre.
Days of Anger.jpg
A Reason to Live, A Reason to Die 1972 Tonino Valerii 8.5/10
Very good film that is another example of the director's quality and creativity. James Coburn and Bud Spencer deserved another movie together.
A Reason to Live, A Reason to Die.jpg
Sabata 1969 Gianfranco Parolini 7/10
Entertaining proposal, well directed and with interesting and well designed characters. I dare say that as time goes by you start to like the movie more because it becomes genuinely fun.
Sabata.jpg
Adios, Sabata 1970 Gianfranco Parolini 6/10
I guess it's okay, it has its moments and Yul Brynner always brings an extra quality to everything he touches, it's acceptable if you don't take it too seriously.
Adios, Sabata.jpg
Return of Sabata 1971 Gianfranco Parolini 3/10
What the hell was this? Let's pretend Sabata only has one movie and forget this thing please. There are worse spaghetti westerns, but of the "fairly well-known" ones, this is the worst.
They Call Me Trinity 1970 Enzo Barboni 7.5/10
Fun, entertaining and iconic, three words that sum up this film very well. Unfortunately, he should be blamed for practically starting the end of the Spaghetti Western, as the comedies he inspired tired audiences.
They Call Me Trinity.jpg
Trinity is Still My Name 1971 Enzo Barboni 8/10
Better in several ways than its predecessor, Terence Hill and Bud Spencer truly make a magical duo.
