Mercedes Gets Away from the Chase (direct translation of original title 'Mersedes' ukhodit ot pogoni) is a 1980 Soviet war movie directed by Yuri Lyashenko. The story is set in Autumn 1943. A Soviet reconnaissance group in disguise of Wehrmacht soldiers makes a raid behind the enemy lines, using the captured Mercedes car. Their mission is to find out where the enemy fresh troops are being transferred.

Loktev's group have the MG 34 machine gun. In various scenes it is used by Lt. Aleksandr Yermolenko (Igor Livanov), Starshina (Sgt. Maj.) Ivan Golovin (Mikhail Golubovich), and Sr. Sgt. Leonid Mikhaylov (Anatoliy Rudakov). MG 34 machine guns are also mounted on German APCs and motorcycles.
