|
The Protégé is a 2021 action film directed by Martin Campbell and staring Maggie Q, Samuel L. Jackson, and Michael Keaton. Thirty years after Moody (Jackson) rescued Anna (Maggie Q) from Vietnam, an enquiry into an old hit results in his apparent death, sending Anna back to her homeland for revenge.

Beretta 93R
A Veitnamese gangster uses a Beretta 93R machine pistol to murder Young Anna's (Eva Nguyen Thorsen) family in 1991. She later retrieves it to avenge her family. The pistol is fired exclusivy on three-round burst.
Young Anna holds her Beretta 93R on Moody when he finds her..
"Beretta 93R. Usually very reliable". Moody takes the 93R and clears a jam.
The gang leader opens fire, gunning down Anna's sisters.
The Beretta disassembled- slide, barrel, spring, frame, and a pair of 20-round mags. Everything you shouldn't leave unatended in front of your would-be sex slave whose parents you just killed.
Anna holds the now reassembled Beretta 93R on its former owner.
After gunning down the rest of the gang, Anna puts another burst into each man to make sure.
Beretta 92F/FS
The Vietnames gang leader assembles a Beretta 92F/FS in his hideout, inadvertantly demonstrating the procedure to Young Anna. A few are also used by various henchmen.
The Beretta sits disassembled on the table.
The gang leader racks the slide of the newly assembled pistol a few times.
And then points the unloaded gun at Young Anna.

An assassin attacks Moody's house armed with a Mossberg 500 Cruiser, apparently killing him. Some bikers in Vietnam later use a similar weapon.

Moody, in the actual series of events, picks up the disabled assassin's shotgun.
