Gewehr 98/40

Anyone else find it odd as all hell that they used such rare German rifles for this show? I find myself wondering where the hell they got them in the first place. - Nyles

Uh, yes they did. Look at the picture, it's obviously a split bridge receiver with the bolt handle turned down in front of it, it's not a Mauser at all. It doesn't have spring retained barrel bands, and if you look really close you can even see the butt socket. Believe me, I'm a WW2 gun collector and that is a Gewehr 98/40. - Nyles

So it does beg the question why they used the rarer, presumably more expensive G98/40 rather than the cheaper, more common and indeed more correct 98K.The Wierd It 11:14, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

Working on this article

Check on Time and Again. I could have sworn that some of the guards during the protest scene had AP-9s, especially when Tom Paris gets shot. A mix of AP9s and Calicos. MoviePropMaster2008 17:05, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

I was the armorer for the episode that used the M950 Calico the weapon came from Ellis Mercantile. We had the Calico and a Detonics 9mm pistol that came from another armory but did not have any other weapons on set for that scene. -Phoenixent 23:49, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

Thanks. Just keep an eye for the AP9 in any episode. I remember pointing it out excitedly to someone when the episode aired (now not sure which one), and I sure as hell wouldn't confuse it with a Calico! hahahaha I got both, and I may be tired, but I wouldn't make THAT mistake. Ellis Mercantile was one of the large prop companies in Hollywood until they closed up shop years ago. Steve knows exactly when they closed their doors. They did weapons, but they also did tons of other prop items as well. Here is their IMDB listing. Not long because most credits don't list who they get their stuff from, only who was actually working on set.

The Colt 1860's

I'm fairly certain that both of the Colt 1860 RM conversions are just normal 1860's. Both have loading levers and no evidence of conversion. They could be Thuer conversions, but I fairly doubt it. PaperCake 21:10 October 3, 2015 (EST)
