"“will be no more ‘live’ weapons on the show"

Noted this already on main talk page for series, but noting here since the page exists now: In 2021 Executive Producer Alexi Hawley claimed there "will be no more ‘live’ weapons on the show". Signs of this, or that this was quietly walked back, are something for editors working on this season to be on the lookout for. VladVladson (talk) 06:41, 19 October 2022 (UTC)

Weapon lights

Some of the weapon lights this season are not surefires they have the characteristic silver ring of streamlights probably TLR-1s --Iceman (talk) 15:11, 24 October 2022 (UTC)

In "Double Trouble" (S5E18), CIA agents are seen armed with what appear to be suppressed rifles.

Bradfords 'nonsensical setup'

Just wanted to address the fact that what the caption assumes to be a 'Magnifier' behind Bradford's ACOG scope is in fact a PVS-14 Night Vision Sight (As seen behind a Red Dot Sight in the first Transformers movie, and behind a holographic in 28 weeks later.) that I believe we got to see in use in an episode of this season. However I don't know if a PVS-14 would work behind an ACOG, as I have never seen anybody try it. Also of note we see Harper use a PVS-14 in her first appearance on Season 2, so I would assume this is the same prop retained and reused but I could be wrong.

Also feel I should bring up that Tim's rifle may in fact be a Mk18 Mod 0 as the flash hider seams to be closer to the sight post that it should be on a Model 933. I would also think that this gun is likely an Airsoft Replica due to the show's step away from life firing weapons, and from what I have seen nobody makes a Model 933 airsoft gun. (Could be wrong though.) Where as most 'M4' airsoft rifles seam to have a false barrel regular length barrel that allows for the easy modification in to the Mk 18 Mod 0 style. Again, I could be wrong but from what I saw of the show the barrel seamed to be slightly to short to be a Model 933. -- User:Bowsy-1120 ( User_talk:Bowsy-1120 ) 02:50, 19 January 2024 (UTC)

The NOD on the rifle annoyed me immensely as well, but IMFDB usually doesn't care about sights or plausbility, just ID so I didn't start it. Anyway: sure it would work behind an ACOG, just badly and there's no point to it. Worse though, he didn't turn it on until the darkness shot so he can see... nothing? A turned off night vision device is black, so he couldn't aim at all. And of course typical TV fake reticle then, it emitted green out the front, etc. Shoobe01 (talk) 20:55, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
As far as airsoft based on layout: most are built a bit like real guns so can be modified easily if for some reason they decided that was important (e.g. matching airsoft based mockup to a real hero gun). I wouldn't discount it being airsoft because of configuration. Shoobe01 (talk) 20:55, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
True but more what I am saying is that the base gun is likely styled on a Mk18 Rather than a Model 933. Kind of like (But also not really like but its the closest idea I could think of.) 9mm Glocks being used as stand ins for Glocks of other Calibres. (Which if I recall was a big thing in the 90's but I may be wrong. Just remember an FBI film having everybody with 9mm Glocks when they should be carrying the .40S&W models. -- User:Bowsy-1120 ( User_talk:Bowsy-1120 ) 11:544, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
