the gun triston holds over his shoulder is at least an 8 bore (which dwarfs 10)if not a 4 bore looks like some form of sharps, maybe an 1874? the gun triston has in the safari scene is most likely a 10 guage because a 8 guage would have been bigger than the cartriges on his bandoleer . i dont know why everybody on here thinks every big hammer gun is a 8 bore !......dalemac37

the colnel's shotgun is actually a verney carron not a remington the woodwork along with the desighn of the forend hardware are trademarks of verney carron .......dalemac37 for proof log onto youtube and put in verney carron 2007 or the 2010 video and you will clearly see the colnols shotgun is not of american manufacture !
