The gun actually looks like a Winchester 1894, not a Marlin. - Gunmaster45

good point. I put both of them together for a side by side analysis. The shape of the buttstock sure looks like an 1894. My only confusion was the amount of wood forend in front of the barrel band. It seems to mimic the Marlin a litter better, but I checked and there are no screen shots that show a better angle on the guns. I would be willing to say that this is a Winchester . MPM

Sheriff Riley stands in front of a wall cubby hole with rifles and carbine careless stacked. In reality, no police or sheriff station would store guns in a loose pile like that. Identification not easy since they are obscure.

Stacked on a the wall behind him (with full accessibility to the public since it is against the back wall where the public walks into the building), are several long guns - the Marlin 336C Carbine, the 12 gauge O/U shotgun and a Steyr Mannlicher M95/30 Short Rifle.
