Right, before i get any shit from anyone the advertisements are in the middle fo the page next to the images. If anyone else can see this i do not know how to stop this or fix it.

Time period?

Why are there slaves in the WEST? The topography in the beginning of the trailer looks like the western states. I assume that all the guns are cap & Ball guns. I noticed that James Remar's shotgun is a percussion cap double barreled (The ram road is visible), not a cartridge gun, and Dr Schulz's gun when he takes down the slavers looks to be a Remington 1858. If Django's wife is a slave, then this cannot take place AFTER the end of the Civil War. Slavery was abolished in 1865. Most western guns appear between 1866-1889. Just musing. MoviePropMaster2008

Didn't you know. That was Hitler's CLONE that kept on running the war after 1944 and died in the bunker in 1945 ;) The clone needed the extra time to build the massive military base on the moon........ MoviePropMaster2008

I assume the rifle Jamie Foxx uses is a Sharps Carbine rifle. and i think shultz has a henry rifle when he guns down riders in the forest.

Anyone surprised at the lack of anachronistic weapons so far? This being a tarrantino film and a tribute to the spaghetti western films i expected a lot of post civil war era/1870's type guns popping up despite the time frame that this takes place in. Yet it seems most of the guns are time period appropriate. --Brasco 9 June 2012 (CDT)

When I watched the movie in theaters, at some point, one of Candieland's henchmen holds a Stainless 1858 New Army Sheriff to Django's head. Stainless firearms and 1858 remingtons with 5.5" barrels were never made during the 1800s... someone should point that out, I don't have the screens --Geckcgt (talk) 00:47, 1 January 2013 (EST)

At the beginning, it did state the year is 1858, 2 years before the Civil War. So far I've seen one 2 guns that are anachronistic, the Derringers and the Henry rifles Excalibur01 (talk) 01:15, 1 January 2013 (EST)

Gun spotting, saw the movie...

OK, so for the first time in "I can't remember how long since we got a NetFlix account" I went to the theater and saw a movie. I tried to keep mental notes about what I spotted.

By the way, the movie opens with it stating that its "1858" and takes place over the span of at least 6-9 months (seasons change from Fall to Spring or Summer).

So far we have...

• Cobra "Big Bore" Derringer (presumably standing-in for the Remington 1866 Derringer)
• Remington 1858 New Army
• Colt 1851 Navy

• Double Barreled Muzzle-loading Shotgun (short barrel coach guns)

• Sharps Rifle (single shot falling block)
• Henry 1860 (lever action)
• Enfield Pattern 1856 Cavalry Carbine
• Remington 1858 ("Cattleman's Carbine")

So lets start the list...

• 1858 Remington New Army pistols (possibly Uberti or Pietta clones judging by the frame stampings)

• 7 1/2" barrel version, blued
• 5 1/2" barrel version, blued
• 5 1/2" barrel version, chrome (carried by the Walton Goggins character)

• 1860 Henry lever action rifle

• Brass frame variant
• Steel frame variant (ridiculously rare in the real world)

• Unknown pocket pistol (carried by Jame Remar character, Butch Pooch)

At least one more uncredited handgun

At the Spencer 'Big Daddy' Bennett's farm, at the time, when his men and Specncer himself tries to lynch Django and Schultz (after they killed Brittles) one slave holds the revolver, with recembles Nagant. Pyramid Silent (talk) 08:13, 1 March 2017 (EST)

I don't see where you're getting a Nagant at all with that, it's a normal cap and ball gun. It looks like another Colt 1851 that are pretty common through the movie. It isn't Raj Brittle's Dragoon given that it is in the hand of a child and the Dragoon would be too big. Also the image for the Dragoon with Django looks to be another 1851 Navy, so he probably just gave the Navy to said slave. -- PaperCake 11:32, 1 March 2017 (EST)
