The tanker who shoots Klaatu?

I've always wondered, would the guy who had an itchy trigger finger and blasted Klaatu get in trouble for doing that when his C.O. hadn't given any order to fire? Or would that tanker be forgiven because he honestly thought what Klaatu took out was a weapon? - Kooshmeister 3:44 May 4, 2010
