Flash in the place where it shouldn't be

Why such a flash is produced by Nagant? I mean, on the sides of cylinder. It used to be sealed shut during the shot to avoid pressure loss and, therefore, propel bullet at much higher speed. But there, it looks like gas sealing isn't working. Or could it be not Nagant?

It is the combined effect of blank cartridge and sealed barrel of screen-used revolver. Such flashes can be seen in many Soviet movies where Nagants are fired. Greg-Z (talk) 02:12, 26 June 2013 (EDT)
