Revolver style

By "Revolver style Single/Double Action" does it mean that if the hammer were manually cocked back while the gun was set to double action only the weapon would fire single action (like a revolver) or is it mearly another name for double action only? -Anonymous

From Wiki "The pistol is a magazine fed, self-loading, hammer firing type which was designed with a trigger "mode" switch installed on the left-hand side of the slide (actually only a flush inlaid disk with a bisecting groove), toggling between double-action/single-action(DA/SA) pistol mode, and the double-action-only (DAO) or "revolver" mode -- though, of course, other than the similarity of the trigger mode, the BDM has no resemblance to revolvers. I still don't quite understand whether in DOA mode the weapon can only fire double action or, since the hammer does have a spur which can be gripped, the hammer can be pulled back each shot to achive single action firing like a revolver -Anonymous

From what I read, in DAO mode the hammer automatically goes back up like a decocker after it's fired. I think the hammer would go back up if you tried to cock it while in DAO mode. Just like on the Beretta 92's when the safety (decocker) is on. I think I have a 90s gun magazine that featured the gun. I may check up on it. --Predator20 06:12, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
