S.W.A.T.: Global Strike Team is a console spin-off of the S.W.A.T. series of games. Set in the then-future of 2008, the game follows the fictional international SWAT Global Strike Team.

For single player, the game follows the "Tac-3" unit of the GST:

Mathias Kincaid: the commander of Tac-3 and the playable character for most of the game.

Kana Lee: The sniper of the group and is occasionally played as instead of Kincaid for specific sequences, although most missions have an AI controlling her. Besides her marksmanship skills, she is agile enough to enter areas inaccessible to the rest of the squad and has a universal lock pick.

Anthony Jackson: An AI-only member of the group who is a expert in breach-and-clear, hacking and bomb disposal.

For the game's co-op campaign, both players choose from 4 members of Tac-6, another element of the fictional SWAT team doing their own missions alongside the main single player campaign against the "Dragon Clan" gang and the "Omega Cartel".

Like Police Quest: SWAT 2 all weapons have infinite reserve ammo though they must be reloaded, all weapons can also be upgraded by arresting specific "Prime Suspects" though only some upgrades are visually applied to the weapon.

The following weapons appear in the video game S.W.A.T.: Global Strike Team:

Player-Usable Weapons

Pistol

Heckler & Koch Mark 23

The Heckler & Koch Mark 23 appears as the "SMC 1230 Tranquilizer Gun", it is the only "Less-Than-Lethal" weapon for Kincaid and only holds 8 rounds but has unlimited reserve ammunition.

As usual for video games, Tranquilizer weaponry is depicted as always safe with no risk of overdosing targets whatsoever though the player is still required to cuff the tranquilized suspect as otherwise they will pull out a grenade.

The "darts" function more like bullets that simply knock out targets after enough shots as no visible darts are left where the target or environment is hit (nor even bullet holes) yet the Mark 23 is still capable of destroying environmental objects. (though bulletproof vests worn by some suspects completely block the Mark 23, requiring head or limb shots to have any effect.)

Notably Jackson also carries a Mark 23 and will switch to it when Kincaid does. (and Lee will automatically switch to firing tranquilizer rounds from her WA2000.)

Submachine Gun

Heckler & Koch MP7

The Heckler & Koch MP7 appears as the "PDSMG 70 Machine Gun" and is only used by Kincaid.

Shotgun

Franchi SPAS-12

The Franchi SPAS-12 appears as the "AFP12 Shotgun" and is an available weapon for Kincaid and is always the primary weapon of Jackson. It is fired in semi-automatic, holds 6 shells by default and the only firearm to somewhat have a reload animation as it is visually pumped (which would waste a shell on a partial reload) after it is lowered off-screen to reload. It is also used by suspects after the Benelli M3 Super 90 Shorty.

Rifles

Heckler & Koch G36C

The Heckler & Koch G36C appears as the "ARGO 56 Assault Rifle" with a default magazine size of 30 rounds. It is the default weapon of Kincaid and is always used by him in cutscenes even if the player took a different weapon into a mission.

Walther WA 2000

The Walther WA 2000 appears as the "SR 2015 sniper rifle", (Notably some early descriptions had the game set in 2020 instead of 2008 so this may be a leftover from that) it holds 6 shots, cannot be upgraded and the scope cannot be used while wearing a gas mask. In the single player campaign, it is only used by Lee and cannot be selected for Kincaid while in multiplayer it can be freely selected from the equipment menu.

When equipped, the Mark 23 is replaced by switching to firing tranquilizer darts from the WA 2000.

Grenades

The player is allowed to take one grenade type into a level.

Flashbang

Flashbang Grenades are an available grenade type. Oddly for this style of game, Suspects occasionally use both Flashbangs and Tear gas grenades against the player

Suspect-only weaponry

Pistols

Glock 18

What appears to be a Glock 18 appears as the pistol used by suspects throughout the game either as their main weapon or drawing it. Despite being capable of full-auto, all suspects fire the Glock in semi-automatic. The late-game "Commando Unit K2" terrorists will draw a Glock after fake-surrendering if not interrupted.

Submachine Guns

Ingram MAC-10

The MAC-10 appears rarely as an enemy weapon. The texture is mirrored meaning it lacks an ejection port.
