Ruth Gordon Jones (October 30, 1896 – August 28, 1985), known as Ruth Gordon, was an American stage and screen actress and writer. In 1915-1987 she appeared in about 40 movies and TV series. In addition to her acting career, Gordon wrote numerous plays, film scripts and books. Ruth Gordon won an Academy Award, an Emmy and two Golden Globe awards.
