Naga Bonar (alternatively spelled Nagabonar) is a 1987 Indonesian epic war comedy film set during the Indonesian War of Independence in the late 1940s. Naga Bonar (Deddy Mizwar) is a former pickpocket turned guerilla leader. Styling himself as a "general", Naga Bonar and his friends would lead a band of Indonesian guerillas against Dutch rule in the eastern coast of North Sumatra. The remastered version of the film was re-released in 2008.

The sequel of the film, Nagabonar Jadi 2, was released in 2007. A remake version of the film titled Nagabonar Reborn was released in 2019.

The following weapons were used in the film Naga Bonar:

Handguns

M.11 Luger

Naga Bonar is seen dual wielding pistols during the first battle scene. One of them is a Luger pistol, presumably the Dutch East Indies-contract M.11 Luger. He also uses it during the final battle.

Mauser C96

Naga Bonar's other pistol (and likely his main sidearm) is a Mauser C96.

Nambu Type 14

During the non-battle scenes, Naga Bonar is seen carrying a Nambu Type 14 instead of his Luger. This pistol is probably a non-firing prop.

Colt M1917

Various characters has a Colt M1917 as their sidearm, such as "Major" Lukman (Wawan Wanisar), "Colonel" Murad (Mustafa), "General" Mariam (Nico Pelamonia), and Major Sloot (Fritz G. Schadt).

Submachine Guns

Carl Gustaf m/45

The Carl Gustaf m/45 are used by both Indonesian and Dutch soldiers. Naga Bonar also used it in a scene early in the film. The appearance of this gun is anachronistic, as the Dutch and Indonesian forces didn't adopt this gun during the timeframe.

Madsen M50

Madsen M50 is one of the main submachine guns used by Dutch forces. As its name implies, this gun wasn't produced until 1950 and thus is anachronistic.

Madsen M53

One of the "General" Mariam soldier is seen with a Madsen M53 early in the film. It can be distinguished from the earlier M50 model by its curved magazine. As with the Madsen M50, this gun is anachronistic.

Mauser Carbine

Both the Indonesian and Dutch soldiers carries what appears to be a Mauser carbine. It is also the main weapon of "Corporal" Bujang (Afrizal Anoda). The carbines are likely the Dutch colonial and/or Indonesian contract FN Mauser Mle 1930 Carbine. The colonial contract carbines were supplied to IOB ("East Indies Entrepreneur") guards and the colonial police. Aside from different markings, the police variant also had side mounted sling swivel, while the IOB variant has none. The later Indonesian contract is similar to IOB carbines, albeit chambered in 7.62mm NATO instead. Some of the colonial contract would also rechambered to 7.62mm NATO.

Although the guns were initially ordered by the Dutch authorities, its usage by the colonial army is anachronistic.

Madsen Model 1951

One Dutch soldier is seen carrying an anachronistic Model 1951 Madsen machine gun. Although the Madsen gun did saw usage by both sides during the war, the more appropriate model would be the earlier Dutch East Indies-contract, notably the short-barreled variant.
