Cops is Cops (Released as Il était une fois un flic... in France) is a 1972 French crime comedy directed by Georges Lautner. Commissioner Campana (Michel Constantin) comes from Paris to Nice to fight against a dangerous drug syndicate. He wants to impersonate Louise Lopez, brother of a murdered drug dealer. Lopez, living in Tunisia, has never been seen by the gangsters. Campana has a chance of success, however, he needs a woman and a child, and so his commissaire Lucas (Michael Lonsdale), for this purpose, "assigns" police aide Christine (Mireille Darc) and her son Bertrand (Hervé Hillien). Alain Delon appears in a cameo role in this film.

Police special commandos are equipped with a MAT-49 submachine guns.

Hitman Felice (Venantino Venantini) used a suppressed Remington Model 760 with scope.
Other Weapons
Karabiner 98k/Tromblon VB Smoke Grenade Launcher
A policeman holds a smoke grenade launcher in one scene. It appears to be the weapon, released specifically for the National Police on base of Karabiner 98k rifle (another version of such weapon was based on M1917 Enfield), shortened at the level of the first sling swivel, fitted with Tromblon VB launcher and using .30-06 propellant cartridge for firing 57mm "cricket" smoke grenades. The conversion was made by MECA de Méaux company.
