I don't believe this category to be necessary. We don't have categories for networks like Starz, USA Network, the CW, and other networks that produce original shows, do we? Netflix is no different from such networks in this regard. Spartan198 (talk) 00:32, 23 March 2018 (EDT)

We have one for HBO and Showtime as well. It made sense a few years ago when they weren't producing a lot of shows, but they're no different from any other network now. If we're not going to have a NBC or CBS category (and I don't think we should), these should go. --Funkychinaman (talk) 07:02, 23 March 2018 (EDT)
Actually there is one for USA Network I think (though recently made) as well as AMC, but that said I do agree. In fact I kinda thought having these categories was unnecessary even back then - they're certainly quite extraneous now. StanTheMan (talk) 16:13, 23 March 2018 (EDT)
They are not extraneous. Since Netflix as well as the other premium channels are producing both TV series and movies, it would be good to tell users where this content comes from. --Ben41 (talk) 20:07, 23 March 2018 (EDT)
That's not much of an argument. This info can just as easily be put in an opening summary. Spartan198 (talk) 04:49, 24 March 2018 (EDT)
That argument can also extended to us making categories for not only all TV networks but film production companies as well - MGM, Paramount, WB, Sony, etc. Which means more categories to make, pages that all have to checked and categorized.. and for what? I don't think it helps in terms of organization. For informational purposes we have summaries and infoboxes. Not to mention info like where it's released/produced can (and I would say should) readily be found elsewhere. Bottom line it just sounds like a lot of busy work that I don't see how it really serves the central point of the site itself. StanTheMan (talk) 20:34, 24 March 2018 (EDT)
