Wind River is a 2017 thriller set in and around the Wind River Indian Reservation in Wyoming. After he finds a dead Native American girl in the snow, Fish and Wildlife Agent Cory Lambert (Jeremy Renner) joins forces with FBI Special Agent Jane Banner (Elizabeth Olsen) and Tribal Police Chief Ben (Graham Greene) to find the killer. Wind River is only the second film directed by Taylor Sheridan, the actor/screenwriter who recently gained acclaim for his screenplays to the films Sicario and Hell or High Water.

Remington Model 700

Corey Lambert (Jeremy Renner) uses what may be a Remington Model 700 of some sort in his first scene. The rifle is fitted with a telescopic sight and is covered in white camouflage wrapping, hindering identification.

Cory Lambert (Jeremy Renner) carries a scoped Marlin Model 1895SBL, which he uses to devastating effect in the climactic gunfight. Renner loads his own ammunition for this rifle, and according to his digital loading scale, he appears to be using 500gr bullets... Hence the devastating effect~!
