The Veteran (2006)

The Veteran is a 2006 television film directed by Sidney J. Furie starring Bobby Hosea as Ray, a former Marine and Vietnam veteran who is confronted thirty years later by a fellow Marine veteran (Michael Ironside) who went MIA during the war. The film is a followup to the 2001 film Under Heavy Fire and heavily utilizes footage from that previous feature. The film also stars Ally Sheedy.

In flashbacks, the main weapon used by the U.S. Marines of Echo Company, including Capt. Ramsey (Casper Van Dien), Tex Atkins (Jaimz Woolvett), and Sgt. Ray Shepard (Bobby Hosea), is the M16A1.

M16A1 with 20 round magazine - 5.56x45mm. What distinguishes it from the original M16 was the addition of a raised rib around the magazine release button, changing of the forward Receiver pins, and the addition of the forward assist button on the upper receiver.
In flashback to Vietnam, Sgt. Ray Shepard (Bobby Hosea) carries the M16A1.
