I served as a member of the Central Reserve Police Force [CRPF] of India as a sub-private for 3 years after wich I was posted in Himachal Pradesh as a member of the Border Security Force [it's like the USA border police] for 4 years... In both organisations my standard issue rifle was the INSAS... Most people tend to under-estimate this weapon... Screw them... The [[INSAS]] is as reliable and rugged as a Kalashnikov and as accurate as an M-16... I'm talking headshots at 450 meters here [that's 495 yards] although the maximum range is atleast double that... It's also the very ergonomic... My only complaint about this rifle is that I wish it was at least a pound lighter... When I joined the CRPF, i was issued a [[Glock]] model 17... I once stuck that pistol in the snow for 8 hours and it could still work properly... Once, it went for 5,000 rounds straight without a single cleaning session [don't worry I regularly clean it after that]...

My name is DEINONYCHUS [I ain't telling you my real name]... But I will tell you a bit about myself...

Date of birth; 9-April-1965

Height; 183cm/6feet

Weight; 75kg/165lb

Hair; black

Eyes; very dark brown

Fave food; chats [a breed of spicy indian junk food]

I served as a member of the Central Reserve Police Force [CRPF] of India as a sub-private for 3 years after wich I was posted in Himachal Pradesh as a member of the Border Security Force [it's like the USA border police] for 4 years... In both organisations my standard issue rifle was the INSAS... Most people tend to under-estimate this weapon... Screw them... The INSAS is as reliable and rugged as a Kalashnikov and as accurate as an M-16... I'm talking headshots at 450 meters here [that's 495 yards] although the maximum range is atleast double that... It's also the very ergonomic... My only complaint about this rifle is that I wish it was at least a pound lighter... When I joined the CRPF, i was issued a Glock model 17... I once stuck that pistol in the snow for 8 hours and it could still work properly... Once, it went for 5,000 rounds straight without a single cleaning session [don't worry I regularly clean it after that]...

The fixed butt stock version of the INSAS is what I was issued - very manageable recoil

Even though I saw little action in the CRPF, I got into some major shootouts when in the BSF... In one incident, me and my three partners gunned down five smugglers coming in from Nepal [they had snuck into Nepal from China it turns out]... I got one kill and the Sikh on our team got two... My other two mates got one each... The smugglers had a cache of arms including the Norinco type 56 and Browning Hi-power clones...

After our service in the CRPF, my Sikh partner and I were accepted into the elite Black Cat commandos... My rifle in the Black Cats was a SIG 551 SWAT... It had a few problems here and there but overall, it was a testament to the fact that SIG makes the highest quality firearms out there... When I joined this elite group, iwas allowed to choose between a new 3rd gen Glock 17 and Glock 19... I still had my 2nd gen Glock from my days in the CRPF and I stuck with it [fired 30,000 rounds from it to date - not one problem]... I served in the Black Cats for 5 years...

I am now retired and live in Bangalore, Karnataka which is a relatively peaceful city... Thst Glock 17 was given to me as a retiring gift [actually, most high ranking law enforcement, paramilitry and military personnel in India are allowed to keep their siderms as a keepsake when retired]... I've only used it at a range outside Bangalore a couple of times to date... I keep it for home-defence and not for concealed carry...

This may not be worth mentioning but I am a permanent editor on Wikipedia...
