Tropico 4 the most recent title in the series (2011)

Tropico is a construction and city building game series where the player assumes the role of the leader of a tropical banana republic. Tropico 1 (2001), Tropico 3 (2009), and Tropico 4 (2011) have a modern setting which gives the player the control of small Caribbean island during the Cold War.

The following weapons are featured in the Tropico series:

Flintlock Pistols

There are several flintlock pistols in the menu screen in Tropico 2.

Tower Sea Service Pistol used by the British Royal Navy.
There is a flintlock pistol on the desk and several hanging on the left wall.

M1911A1

Generals and El Presidente carry M1911A1 pistols in Tropico 3 & 4. Despite being American made handgun they will still be availible even if Tropico is a Communist Country.

Colt M1911A1 - .45 ACP
The generals draw their pistols during battles with the rebels.
El Presidente is defending Tropico with his sidearm.

Smith & Wesson M&P

Policemen carry Smith & Wesson M&P pistols with a two tone finish in Tropico 3 & 4. Customs officers were introduced in Tropico 4 and carry the same pistol. The Smith & Wesson M&P is anachronistic because it was introduced in 2005 and Tropico starts in 1950 (unless the Modern Times DLC is downloaded) meaning it would not be around until decades after the game is set. Note that the pistol skin is mirrored and is missing the ejection port because of that.

Smith & Wesson M&P - .357 SIG
A policeman on duty.
A Customs officer on his way home.

Browning High Power

Female criminals in Tropico 4 carry oversized Browning High Power pistols.

Browning Hi-Power - 9x19mm.
Female criminals openly carry their pistols.

Heckler & Koch MP5A3

Added in the "Modern Times" expansion for Tropico 4, SWAT Team members carry Heckler & Koch MP5A3s.

Muskets

Armed guards carry Muskets in Tropico 2. Pirate ships have to be equipped with Muskets, which are produced locally.

Charleville Musket - .69 caliber

Blunderbuss

There are two Blunderbuss hanging on the wall in the menu screen in Tropico 2.

Blunderbuss Flintlock
There are several blunderbuss hanging on the left wall.

AK-47

All soldiers and rebels carry AK type rifles in Tropico 1. In Tropico 3 & 4, only the rebels carry AK rifles.

Type I AK-47 - 7.62x39mm

Tropico 1

One of the palace guards carries an AK during the intro of Tropico 1.
A soldier walks near the palace. Although hard to see because of the low resolution. Looks much better while moving.
CGI model of the male rebel, that was used to create the game sprites.
CGI model of the female rebel, that was used to create the game sprites.
El Presidente keeps a personal AK in his office.

Tropico 3 & 4

Rebels charge during a battle in Tropico 4. Note that the male and female models actually have two different AKs: the females have taped their magazines together jungle style.
The statues have M16A2 rifles and AK type rifles. The right statue uses the soldier and the rebel models from the game.

M16A2

Soldiers in Tropico 3 & 4 carry M16A2 rifles. These rifles are anachronistic because the M16A2 was introduced in the 1980s and Tropico starts in 1950 (unless the Modern Times DLC is downloaded) meaning the M16 rifle series would not be around until a decade after the game is set. Despite being American made your military will still equip them even if Tropico is Communist.

M16A2 Rifle - 5.56x45mm.
The soldiers in Tropico 3 & 4 carry anachronistic M16A2s.
The statues have M16A2 rifles and AK type rifles. The right statue uses the soldier and the rebel models from the game.

KPVT Heavy Machine Gun

The Junta DLC adds military-themed decorations. These include armored fighting vehicles, which appear to be BTR-60s with a standard KPVT Heavy Machine Gun. The BTR-60s will be available even if Tropico is a capitalist country.

KPVT heavy machine gun - 14.5x114mm.
Since they are only decoration, it can be assumed that they are made from paper-mâché.

M60 Machine Gun

The icon for the military modernization edict features a South Korean K2 Black Panther tank which presumably mounts a coaxial M60 machine gun.
