Titanic is the 1997 historical drama written and directed by James Cameron and stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a young journeyman and Kate Winslet as a disillusioned socialite who together find love while traveling aboard the ill-fated passenger liner. The film would subsequently be nominated for a record-tying fourteen Academy Awards and would receive eleven, including the Awards for Best Picture and Best Director and would hold the honor of the highest-grossing film of all time until Cameron's own Avatar surpassed it in 2009.

Pistols

M1911 (Nickel Engraved)

Although anachronistic, Spicer Lovejoy (David Warner) carries an ornate nickel-plated M1911 pistol (even though a non-nickel M1911 would have been more correct for someone to carry in 1912, as the weapon hadn't achieved widespread usage yet). At one point, Cal Hockley (Billy Zane) grabs the M1911 from Lovejoy's shoulder holster and chases Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Rose (Kate Winslet) through the sinking ship. The M1911 came from Stembridge Gun Rentals. It was chosen because the patent date made it plausible. The Colt M1911 started to be issued in test articles around early 1912 to the US Military. A special run of 100 pistols, blued, were made in August of 1912 for select members of the National Rifle Association, before sales to the general public began the following year. Notice the M1911 has a M1911A1 hammer on it.

Spicer Lovejoy (David Warner) plays with his .45 ACP ammunition as Jack is handcuffed to a pole. Just visible are A1 relief cuts around the trigger guard.
Lovejoy loads his M1911. Unless he already had a round in the chamber, which is possible, the chamber is empty as he simply inserts the magazine and holsters it. At some point he must have chambered a round, because it is ready when Cal uses it, and it's unlikely that the inexperienced Cal would know how to do this.
A side view of Lovejoy's M1911. Note the M1911A1 style hammer.
Cal: "I make my own luck."
Lovejoy: "So do I."
Spicer Lovejoy (David Warner) shows his M1911 shoulder rig to Cal.
Cal Hockley (Billy Zane) grabs Lovejoy's M1911 and runs down the grand staircase. Just over Cal's left shoulder is Lovejoy's jacket, still revealing his shoulder holster.
Cal runs out of ammunition after 8 shots, and looks angrily at the empty gun.
In a deleted scene, Lovejoy reloads his M1911.
"I've been looking for you, miss."
In the same deleted scene, Lovejoy fires his M1911 at Jack and Rose before going into the hallway and up the stairs.

Revolvers

Webley Mk. I

Some of the officers of the Titanic can be seen with Webley Mk I revolvers, just as the real officers had carried. Second Officer Charles Herbert Lightoller (Jonathan Phillips) can be seen threatening several passengers with his, just before actually loading it.

"Get back, I say, or I'll shoot you all like dogs! Keep order here! Keep order I say!"
Second Officer Charles Herbert Lightoller (Jonathan Phillips) can be seen threatening several passengers with a Webley Mk I revolver.
After threatening to shoot overzealous passengers at the lifeboats with his revolver, Lightoller turns around to actually load his Webley. The striking "bird head" shaped grip is seen.

Webley Mk. II

First Officer William Murdoch (Ewan Stewart) uses a Webley Mk II to shoot two passengers before shooting himself. Fifth Officer Harold Godfrey Lowe (Ioan Gruffudd) also briefly can be seen with one when he fires three warning shots away from the crowds when the boat is being lowered even though the real Officer Lowe carried his own sidearm on the ship, an FN Model 1900.

Lightoller fires his Webley into the air during the loading of the last lifeboat. Note the thicker hammer and rounded grip compared to the Mk I.
"I'll shoot any men who try to get past me! Get back!"
First Officer William Murdoch (Ewan Stewart) aims his Webley just before losing control.
Murdoch salutes his crewmen and puts the Webley to his head which offers a perfect view of the strengthened hammer. Accounts of survivors, including Second Officer Lightoller, dispute this portrayal of Murdoch, and studio executives later personally delivered an apology to his family and the residents of his home town, where he's celebrated as a hero.

Remington New Line No. 1

A crewman guarding the third class passengers at a gate below decks during the sinking draws a Remington New Line No.1 and aims it at them to keep them away from the gate.
