The Walking Dead is a 1995 Vietnam War film that centers on a squad of Marines (the majority of them African-American) who struggle to complete a mission to retrieve POW's after their helicopter is shot down and several of their members are killed. During their mission, the men flashback to their civilian lives and the reasons why they joined the Corps. Not to be confused with the AMC television series.

The following weapons were used in the film The Walking Dead:

Remington 870 custom

A Remington 870 shotgun with a USMC configuration is the main weapon carried by Sgt. Barkley (Joe Morton).

M16A1/XM16E1

The M16A1 rifle fitted with Starlight Night Scope is the weapon mainly carried by Pvt. Hoover Brache (Eddie Griffin). In some scenes, the M16 SP1 is fitted with the scope.

M16 Rifle Colt Model 602

The M16 rifle is the rifle carried by Evans (Allen Payne). In some scenes, this is the rifle fitted with the scope.

The original M16, the first version, firing in a 20-round magazine, adopted in large numbers by the U.S. Army in Vietnam. It would later be replaced by the upgraded M16A1 - 5.56x45mm

M3A1 "Grease Gun"

Cpl. "Pip" Pippins (Roger Floyd) carries an M3A1 "Grease Gun" as his chief weapon.

M3 "Grease Gun" .45 ACP. This is an earlier model with a crank-like retracting lever.

Colt M1911A1

Nearly all the Marines use the M1911A1 as their sidearm. 1st Sgt. Hall (Hank Stone) is memorably seen pulling an M1911A1 on a Marine who dozed off during a briefing. Hoover is seen dual-wielding M1911A1's as well.

Colt 1911A1 Pistol - .45 ACP.

Auto Ordnance M1911A1

The Auto Ordnance M1911A1 is also occasionally seen in the film used instead of the M1911A1.

Norinco Type 56 (AK47 and SKS)

NVA forces are seen armed with the Norinco Type 56 rifle. Pip is seen dual-wielding one along with the Grease Gun.

During a flashback, a mobster is seen opening fire on Pip with a Smith & Wesson Model 10.
