The series premiered in 2013 on Sky Atlantic in the UK and on Canal+ in France. The Tunnel was based on the Danish/Swedish-produced 2011 series Bron, which also was adapted into the US/Mexico television series The Bridge, which premiered in 2013 in the US on the FX Network.
