The Bonnie Parker Story is a 1958 crime drama loosely based on the real story of Depression-era bandits Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. Dorothy Provine made her major feature debut as Parker, while the Barrow character was renamed "Guy Darrow" and played by Jack Hogan. Aside from the name changes and many anachronisms, The Bonnie Parker Story focuses more on the fictional legend of the "cigar-smoking" gun moll than the known facts of the Barrow gang, though it does include elements like Bonnie's criminal ex-husband and the gang's deadly prison break that have not been featured in other major movies like the more famous Bonnie and Clyde (1967). This was an early release for low-budget production label American International Pictures (AIP) and was released alongside Machine Gun Kelly starring Charles Bronson as another real-life 1930s outlaw.
