Taurus Model 66
The Taurus Model 66 is identical to the Taurus Model 65 except that it has adjustable sights. Introduced in 1978 the Model 66 is at first glance a twin of the Smith & Wesson Model 19 (not surprising considering that both companies were owned by Bangor Punta in the Seventies and Eighties, and they shared designs and technology). However, there are differences internally between the two models.
Over the years, the Model 66 has seen changes such as a stainless-steel finish, rubber grips, full underlug barrels, differing barrel lengths added and removed from the catalog, seven cartridge cylinders etc. It has been one of the company's best-selling models over the past 45 years.
