The rifle Mick Taylor uses in the long distance sniping scene is a Tikka 595, probably in 308 Winchester caliber. Tikka's and Sako's are very popular rifles with Aussie shooters.

The .22lr rifle used by Mick Taylor in the other scene where he uses a bolt action rifle is not a Remington 700. Remington 700's were never made in .22lr. It could be a Remington 547 Classic or more likely a CZ, Anschutz or Sportco rifle as these are very popular with shooters in Australia.
