The first one is a Franken gun.  They discussed this on the RPF board a couple of years back.  It is believed that CB's rifle was made from a 30s, or 40s air pistol with added firearms parts.

I think that EM's rifle was made from a studio replica of an M1 Garand with a cut-down stock, and added parts.  When they showed the muzzle in the episode it was solid, but the rifle obviously had weight, so I don't think it was made from a toy.--[[User:Krel|Krel]] 22:55, 20 September 2011 (CDT)
