Just started a major revamp of this page as it was a bit lean. Will look a bit sorry for itself for a few days though. --Commando552 23:52, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

You've done an excellent job so far, however there is a few minor error. The series has the Challenger 1, not Challenger 2 MBT - the CR1 doesn't have the L94a1 chaingun that the Warrior does (the Challenger 2 does however) The CR1 uses the L37A2 7.62mm coaxial machine gun - a variant of the L7 GPMG. Also, the L7/M240 GPMG is also used on the CR1 as the commander's external/AA defence machine gun (although the vehicle mounted variant is the L8A2 if memory serves me correctly) Other than that, the article looks pretty good to me Spanner
Thanks, have added in a pic of the L37 in the L7 section (took a while to find one, most don't seem to have it mounted in the series) and fixed the L94 section to remove the Chally 1. Think Iwill leave out the L8A2 though, unless I find an episode when it is actually used. --Commando552 20:14, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

On another topic, can someone confirm for me whether my guess that the AK-47 looking rifle is actually an R4 is correct as I am by no means an expert on these kinds of rifles.--Commando552 20:14, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

RE:AK/R4 - I'd say you are correct in that it is not a 'real' AK-47, and it does indeed look very similar to the R4, albeit with wooden parts on it (but, like yourself, I am not an AK expert) It does appear to be missing part of the R4 - the metal 'lump' infront of the charging handle but behind the foreguard (visible on the R4 display pic, but not the 'AK')
If you are talking about the lump on the underside in front of the magazine, that is just the feet of the folding bipod, which is removeable.--Commando552 22:01, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
No, Its the 'thing' on the top of the reciever - it is directly above the indentation in the magwell. It's visible on the actual R4s, but not the 'AK'.
Or, on second thoughts, it probably is just the charging handle of the R4 - it just isn't present on the screen cap.

On the Chally, you've mixed them up - the L37 is the coax MG (not visible in shot), the L8 is the commanders pintle mount (visible in shot). Both are used in an episode (training), along with the CRARRV's L8A2, but I cannot remember the episodes (it was from the Robson Green era of the show) --Spanner

Am pretty sure I am correct. L8A1 is for internal coaxial mounting and barrel has fume extractor, trigger is a solenoid and there is only a folding emergency pistol grip. L37A1 is for pintle mounting and uses the breech of the L8A1, but mates it with a conventional L7A1 barrel and uses a regular pistol grip and trigger.--Commando552 21:58, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
I'll be honest, I'm getting my info from 3 text books and a magazine article on the L7 GPMG in service - all three suggest L37 is the coax - but I'll admit the Chally 1 is not my main topic (a little bit before my time, Chally 2 however isn't - but that has a bog standard L7 and L94A2) I'm happy for you to leave it the way it is, as I think you've probably gotten it correct.--Spanner

Unknown artillery gun - to me, that looks like the second world war British 6pdr AT gun (57mm)--Spanner

I think you have got it, changed. --Commando552 09:54, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
