== SKS-D with incorrect image ==

I've been re-reading the page, and it appears the SKS pictured in the section and for reference on Film pages isn't actually an SKS-D. It's a regular SKS fitted with a 30 round duckbill magazine. You can tell by the magazine catch. SKS-D and M models have an AK style paddle, rather than the little latch the regular ones have. Does anyone have access to an SKS-D to take a new, correct picture, or can we use a picture from an online source?

Discussion

Was the SKS ever made in 7.62x54R?

WHY!?!?!?!? The SKS was built BECAUSE the Red Army needed a rifle to field the new intermediate round. Why on earth would they make their brand new design to FIRE the caliber they're trying to replace (as a main battle cartridge). MoviePropMaster2008
I'm pretty sure it wasn't. If you're looking for a Soviet automatic rifle in 7.62x54R, then wouldn't that be the SVT-40? --funkychinaman 18:49, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
Only ever made in 7.62 x 39mm. There was a Simonov-designed rifle in 7.62 x 54mm called the AVS-36, but it was very different from the SKS. - Nyles

Rasheed Carbine

Isn't it incorrect to feature on this page? The Rasheed is a derivative of the Ljungman AG-42 and Hakim designs; it only resembles the SKS externally.

Well, we have weapons that only match in external aesthetic listed on the same page as others - The CETME Ameli on the MG42/MG3 page comes to mind, but to be fair that one externally looks exactly like a scaled down MG, so that's probably more the exception. I do think it's more common that there are separate pages for some variations even if they share design and appearance characteristics - But of course not always. Bah, I'll leave this one to actual decision-makers here.

PS - A simpler solution (in the interim) might be to just move that variant onto the talk page here, as it's only listing is a game page that isn't there. StanTheMan (talk) 14:28, 22 April 2016 (EDT)
It's a bit of a moot point, since the Rasheed is no longer eligible for inclusion, but if it were to come back, I believe it should go on the AG-42 page. --Funkychinaman (talk) 15:05, 22 April 2016 (EDT)

Custom Bullpup SKS

I found a few primary Russian sources on the gun, but I don't understand any of them since I don't speak Russian. This is a guns.ru thread about that particular bullpup SKS, and clicking into the links leads to YouTube videos showing the bullpup SKS made by a man named Alexey Temes, including a production video of Na Igre where the gun appeared in. Can anybody who speak Russian translate some of the contents so we can know more about the gun? --Wuzh (talk) 22:58, 10 November 2018 (EST)

SKS-D with incorrect image

I've been re-reading the page, and it appears the SKS pictured in the section and for reference on Film pages isn't actually an SKS-D. It's a regular SKS fitted with a 30 round duckbill magazine. You can tell by the magazine catch. SKS-D and M models have an AK style paddle, rather than the little latch the regular ones have. Does anyone have access to an SKS-D to take a new, correct picture, or can we use a picture from an online source?
