If the pistol Selleck uses as Jesse Stone is a S&W 1911, it is the S&W Gunsite version of this pistol. The Gunsite raven is clearly shown on the right side of the slide behind the rear slide serrations. The pistol also sports the Gunsite raven logo on the grips. The Gunsite pistol is a slightly customized version of the SC pictured.

In the movie, he comments that its hard to work the safety since it is only on the left side of the gun. He comments that he doesn't like ambidextrous safeties because they are too easy to switch to "fire" on accident. The revolver would negate this.GaBoy45 01:19, 29 April 2010 (UTC) Sure I agree, but I was just throwing ideas out. I really have no idea why they have him using the revolver except maybe as a throwdown piece. --Jcordell 01:32, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

The pistols under the S&W 1911 heading are not a 5" 1911's. If you look at the bottom of the slide ahead of the dust cover compared the the pic of the 5", it is clearly a Commander length pistol. User:Captain America
