:From the shape of the top cover and the design and position of the charging handle, I would say that it is probably an MG42 which has been mocked up as a generic "early" water cooled machine gun. I think I can also see the rear of the hinged pannel on the right side of the heat shield (that you open to do a barrel change on the MG42) poking out of the rear of the cosmetic jacket. --commando552 (talk) 05:17, 6 December 2012 (EST) I agree, it is MG42, which imitates Perino Machine Gun, that can not practically get for movie in original.--Pandolfini (talk) 07:44, 6 December 2012 (EST)

:::Also, why do you say it is a Perino, is there dialogue that backs this up? It looks no more like a Perino to me than any other early machine gun (less so in fact, as the Perino was strip fed rather than belt). If you are just saying it is a Perino based on the fact that it is italian, that is a bit of a reach, and also I'm fairly sure that Maxims were more common in the Italian army anyway.  --commando552 (talk) 09:48, 6 December 2012 (EST)

MG08 ?

It seems to me that the shape of the reciever doesn't really match MG08. Such large slope in the front side is unusual for any machine gun so I have no idea what it can be. Greg-Z (talk) 02:19, 6 December 2012 (EST)

From the shape of the top cover and the design and position of the charging handle, I would say that it is probably an MG42 which has been mocked up as a generic "early" water cooled machine gun.
If it's an MG42 imitating a Perino, then we call it an MG42. --Funkychinaman (talk) 08:24, 6 December 2012 (EST)
Also, why do you say it is a Perino, is there dialogue that backs this up? It looks no more like a Perino to me than any other early machine gun (less so in fact, as the Perino was strip fed rather than belt). If you are just saying it is a Perino based on the fact that it is italian, that is a bit of a reach, and also I'm fairly sure that Maxims were more common in the Italian army anyway. --commando552 (talk) 09:48, 6 December 2012 (EST)
