The influence of advisor and former Texas Ranger Joaquin Jackson can be seen in the pistol (a Commander-style 1911), holster and grips used by Jeff Bridges, very similar to those used by Nick Nolte in Extreme Prejudice.

Fairly certain it's a Marlin Model 1881 lever action rifle. Note the loading gate and the shape of the lever. Pretty distinctive. Made between 1881 - 1891 in four calibers. There were two different frame sizes. The large frame was available in 45-70 Government, 45-85 and 40-60 Marlin.The medium frame was available in 32-40 and 38-55 Ballard. That one appears to be a large frame Model 1881. Marlin only made about 21,000 of this model and they are very collectible. An interesting choice and very cool.I created the page for the rifle and I've added the movie to it. I'll leave the rest to you since I haven't actually seen the film yet and therefore have no idea where it fits into the storyline. --Jcordell (talk) 20:41, 27 February 2017 (EST)

I'm not so 100% sure that it actually is one. If you look at the receiver it looks like it has some extra pins or screws, a couple at the front of the receiver and one high up at the rear that are absent on the real Marlin 1881. Maybe it is a replica or a clone, but I can't find a match. --commando552 (talk) 13:39, 28 February 2017 (EST)

It's not a Colt-Burgess rifle though. The loading gate is in the right place, but the CB was only made in 44-40 and the frame is too large for that caliber. I also keep looking at the shape of the lever itself. It's a tough one. I don't suppose there are any clearer screencaps?--Jcordell (talk) 15:38, 28 February 2017 (EST)

Okay one last possibility. IT might be a Whitney Scharf rifle. Whitney only built 2000 Scharf's from around 1886-1888 before being bought out by Winchester Repeating Arms which promptly dissolved this old and historic company.--Jcordell (talk) 15:57, 28 February 2017 (EST)

Anyone able to catch what pistol is being used by the old man during the second bank robbery? It appeared to be nickel Beretta Cheetah, not sure exactly which model. The actor also seemed to greatly exaggerate the recoil.--One shot is all it takes. (talk) 17:18, 1 March 2017 (EST)
