Yes, we know that James Bond (up until Quantum of Solace, anyway) had switched to a Walther P99 and was using that as his primary sidearm. And yes, the game does indeed call his default handgun a P99. However, much the same way a Taurus PT92 isn't a Beretta 92FS, the Smith and Wesson SW99 ISN'T the Walther P99. Only in a few promotional photos for this game is Bond shown with his proper P99. Everywhere else, including in-game and cutscenes, the SW99 model that EA used for Agent Under Fire is reused here. Even the strategy guide shows the model of a Smith & Wesson SW99. Turns out, there is a Walther P99, but as mentioned before, it is only seen on the game's cover and a few promo pics. There was also a Smith & Wesson SW99, seen in pre-rendered cutscenes and the Bond Sense menu. But there's also another P99 - one that combines parts of both similar yet dissimilar guns into one. As mentioned in the main article, the hybrid uses the frame of a German-born Walther P99 while the slide comes from the American SW99. It's this P99 that appears during gameplay, used by Bond.
