Superhot is a first-person shooter videogame developed and published by the Superhot Team, released as a prototype in 2013 and as a full game in 2016. The game has minimalist, low-poly graphics and most of the player's goals are to kill all enemies on each level to pass, while avoid getting killed; but Superhots most major characteristic is that in-game time only passes when the player moves, with everything (including bullets and enemies) staying in very slow-motion while they're still - as evidenced by the game's motto: "Time Only Moves When You Move". This can be used, for instance, to dodge incoming bullets. At each level, the player can acquire weapons by either picking them up from the environment or stealing them from enemies.

An assault rifle appears in Superhot, being called either "Rifle" or "Machine Gun" depending on the source. Anyhow, it is a generic assault rifle with aesthetic features apparently based on Armalite and Eugene Stoner designs such as the M16 and the Stoner 63. It shoots in 4-round bursts with each trigger pull and is the last firearm the player acquires. It was replaced by the MAC-10 in Superhot VR.

A Double Barreled Shotgun appears in Superhot, mostly referred to as "Shotgun". Predictably, it shoots in a wide spread which makes it both easy to kill enemies with and to be killed by enemies wielding it. When used by the player, it can only fire two shots before going empty; this doesn't apply to enemies wielding it, who shoot indefinitely like all firearms they use, albeit with a slight delay between every two shots to symbolize reloading. It (sort of) reappears in Superhot VR, with a cut-off barrel and stock and with one less trigger.

Superhot (2016)
Superhot VR (2016)

Superhot is a first-person shooter videogame developed and published by the Superhot Team, released as a prototype in 2013 and as a full game in 2016. The game has minimalist, low-poly graphics and most of the player's goals are to kill all enemies on each level to pass, while avoid getting killed; but Superhot's major characteristic is that in-game time only passes when the player moves, with everything (including bullets and enemies) staying in very slow-motion while they're still; the game's tagline is "Time Only Moves When You Move". This can be used, for instance, to dodge incoming bullets. At each level, the player can acquire weapons by either picking them up from the environment or stealing them from enemies.

Superhot VR is the virtual-reality version of the game, developed almost entirely based on the main title, and initially released in 2016 as well. It features most if not all of the fundamental elements of the main title, with one of the exceptions being different weapons, most of which were replaced in favor of one-handed ones to better support motion-tracked controllers, which allows players to use two at once.

An expansion named Superhot: Mind Control Delete, featuring differentiated gameplay elements, was released in early-access in 2017, with the final version released in July 16th of 2020.

The following weapons appear in the video games Superhot and Superhot VR:

Handguns

Pistol

A non-descriptive pistol, vaguely resembling a Beretta 92FS, is the first gun the player can get and is very common throughout the levels and is widely used by the "Red Dudes" (the enemies). Not much changes from other guns other than rate of fire and accuracy since all characters in the game (including the player) die with a single hit. It is featured in both Superhot and Superhot VR, being the only firearm the two games share.

Blasting a Red Dude into shards in a manner very much like the Casino Royale opening credits.

Aiming down the Pistol's sights.

M1911A1

A M1911A1, rather than the standard in-game pistol, is given to the player in the very ending of Superhot VR. It was apparently made just for the that final sequence and is predictably never seen again afterwards. It is not featured in Superhot at all.

Pre-War Colt M1911A1 - .45 ACP
The M1911A1 as seen in Superhot VR. The bump on the rear of the grip, short trigger and longer frame spur suggest it is based on a M1911A1 rather than an older M1911.

Rifles

Assault Rifle

An assault rifle appears in Superhot, being called either "Rifle" or "Machine Gun" depending on the source. Anyhow, it is a generic assault rifle with aesthetic features apparently based on Armalite and Eugene Stoner designs such as the M16 and the Stoner 63. It shoots in 4-round bursts with each trigger pull and is the last firearm the player acquires. It was replaced by the MAC-10 in Superhot VR.

Submachine Guns

MAC-10

A MAC-10 with its folding stock removed is featured exclusively in Supehot VR, standing in for Superhot's Rifle in the fully-automatic weapon role. The game occasionally refers to it as an "Uzi", such as in the achievements, which is a common mistake.

Shotguns

Double Barreled Shotgun

A Double Barreled Shotgun appears in Superhot, mostly referred to as "Shotgun". Predictably, it shoots in a wide spread which makes it both easy to kill enemies with and to be killed by enemies wielding it. When used by the player, it can only fire two shots before going empty; this doesn't apply to enemies wielding it, who shoot indefinitely like all firearms they use, albeit with a slight delay between every two shots to symbolize reloading. It (sort of) reappears in Superhot VR, with a cut-off barrel and stock and with one less trigger.

Sawed-off Double Barreled Shotgun

A Sawed-off Double Barreled Shotgun is another gun that is only featured in Superhot VR, replacing the full-size Double Barreled Shotgun seen in the original game; it has virtually identical traits to the other shotgun. It's referred to by the game as "Sawed-off Shotgun".

Sarasqueta Sawn-off DB - 12 gauge, similar to the one in the game, save for the dual triggers.
The Sawed-off Shotgun's model. Note that it also has a much shorter forearm.
The Sawed-off Shotgun as seen Superhot VR.
Aiming down the sights, which aren't a particularly useful addition to a sawed-off shotgun.
