Soldier Soldier (1991 - 1997)

L85A1

The L85A1 Is the standard weapon used by the British Forces in this series, and is used throughout the run of the show. Normally they have SUSATs mounted (as the Kings Own Fusiliers is an infantry regiment) and is often seen with mounted blank firing adapter (BFA).

Lt Nick Pasco (Peter Wingfield) cleans his L85A1 in "Fighting Spirit" (Season 1, Episode 4). The part that he is holding is the bolt guide rod and return spring assembly.)

Troops take part in a beach landing exercise in Cyprus in "Damage" (Season 4, Episode 3) with BFAs attached to their L85A1s.

Pvt Tucker (Robson Green) carries his L85A1 on ceremonial duties with bayonet attached and with ceremonial coverings in "Further Education" (Season 4 Episode 7) at Windsor Castle.

Soldiers perform NSPs (normal safety procedures) after NBC (Nuclear, Biological and Chemical) training in "Poles Apart" (Season 4 Episode 11).

An L85A1 mounter with SAWES(Small Arms Weapons Effects Simulator) equipment in "Love and War" (Season 5, Episode 9).

A non training use of the L85A1, when the battalion is sent to the civil war torn Makindi in "Baptism of Fire" (Season 5, Episode 14).

L86A1

The [[L86A1[[, or LSW, is seen multiple times throughout the series. However, it is not seen as regularly as it should be, as when the series was set the LSW was issued at a rate of one per four man fire team.

An "enemy" on a training exercise emerging from the hatch of an armoured vehicle with his LSW, in "Lost and Found" (Season 2, Episode 6).

During a beach landing exercise in "The Last Post" (Season 2, Episode 7) as gunner is seen using his LSW from the upper deck of an LCU (Landing Craft Utility) Mk9.

L7A1 machine gun(FN MAG)

Standard machine gun of the British, Australian & New Zealand forces.

Steyr AUG

As seen wielded by the Australian(season 5) & New Zealand troops(season 2)

M1919A4 machine gun

Seen sticking through the turret of the Australian Army M113 APC's as a co-axial weapon with a cone flash hider. And also in South Africa mounted on a Land Rover.

Standard weapon of the South African Army(season 5)

FN FAL

Seen wielded by a Guerrilla in series 5.

Heckler & Koch MP5

Used by Police during the hostage scene.

Sawn-Off 2 barrel shotgun

Used by the mad gun man holding Donna Tucker as hostage when he thinks david tucker killd his wife.

L1A1 Self Loading Rifle

Seen in the Intro by British Troops disembarking a dinghy.
