Sky Without Stars is a 1955 West German film directed by Helmut Käutner. The young Anna Kaminski lives directly at the zonal border in Thuringia. Her son, whose father died in the war, lives with his grandparents in Bavaria, only a few kilometers to the west. Since she wants to see him again and again, she steals secretly across the border. At one of her aisles, she meets the Bavarian border police, Carl Altmann. The West German helps Anna to illegally bring her son to the East and both fall in love. But the only way to meet is between the borders in an abandoned train station. After all, Anna wants to finally flee to the Western sector with her son, but the borders are getting denser.
