The following weapons were used in the film Sharky's Machine:

Handguns

Colt Government Model

The Colt Government Model is used by the Atlanta City Police detectives throughout the movie. These could possibly be Colt Mk IV Series 70s rather than older 'Pre-Series 70' commercial models, but it is uncertain.

Smith & Wesson Model 29

A Smith & Wesson Model 29 revolver with a 6.5" barrel is used with very impressive results by the drug dealer Highball Murray (Hari Rhodes) at the beginning of the movie when Sharky (Burt Reynolds) is attempting to buy heroin from him during an undercover operation.

Highball (Hari Rhodes) blows the engine hood off of an unmarked car. Doubtful that even the powerful .44 magnum could do such a thing, but it's good showmanship.

Highball (Hari Rhodes) is out of time with Sharky (Burt Reynolds) having boarded the bus.

Smith & Wesson Model 15

At the end of the movie, when the cops are closing in on the main villains in the Peachtree Hotel in downtown Atlanta, one of the uniformed officers is seen with what appears to be a Smith & Wesson Model 15 revolver.

Colt Python

Sharky (Burt Reynolds) uses a Colt Python with a six inch barrel during the botched drug buy and subsequent gun fight at the beginning of the movie.

Colt Diamondback

Sharky (Burt Reynolds) has a Colt Diamondback with a 4" barrel in the bag with the drug buy money. The drug dealer Highball Murray (Hari Rhodes) identifies it as a Diamondback. He takes it from Sharky when the drug deal goes bad. However the Diamondback is empty. Sharky's real piece is a Colt Python that he is carrying on his person (as shown above).

High Standard Sharpshooter M

It appears that one of Billy Score's (Henry Silva) weapons is likely a suppressed High Standard Sharpshooter M. It was difficult to get a good image of the pistol, but the weapon is a .22 LR pistol (though the sound effect is that of a much larger caliber weapon). When Score opens his briefcase there is a brief shot of the pistol and a box of Winchester .22 LR inside the case. A good shot of the weapon is seen when Billy kills an undercover cop and the prostitute who is with him.

Shotguns

Over & Under Double Barreled Shotgun

The hitman Billy Score (Henry Silva) uses a cut down Cut Down Over & Under Shotgun. At one point it is identified as being a 12 gauge. The shotgun appears to be a Browning Over & Under Shotgun, but this is unconfirmed.

Unidentified Pump-Action Shotgun

At the beginning of the movie, during the dramatic shootout on an Atlanta city bus between Sharky (Burt Reynolds) and Highball Murray (Hari Rhodes), an unidentified pump shotgun is briefly seen in the hands of another detective following the bus taken by Boots.
