SIG MKMS

In early thirties Schweizerishe Industrie-Gesellshaft (SIG) company in Neuhausen designed a family of submachine guns. A military version MKMS (Maschinen Karbiner Militärmodell Seitlich) was first introduced in 1933, followed by a short-barreled police version MKPS. In 1935 SIG created simplified versions MKMO and MKPO respectively, that used simple blowback action with one-piece bolt (the first version had delayed blowback action). About 1,200 submachine guns of all four versions were made in total, issued to Swiss police, Finnish military (282 MKMS) and Vatican Swiss guards.
