River Phoenix was an American actor and musician who was also the brother of actor Joaquin Phoenix. He started acting as a child, with significant roles in The Explorers, The Mosquito Coast, Stand By Me, Sneakers, and as Young Indiana Jones in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. He died of a drug overdose at the age of 23.
